Built in the 80s, YONDER STAR was designed by renowned naval architect Don Brooke, whose eye for generous proportions combined with the yacht’s high quality finish created a gracious residence at sea.
YONDER STAR was completely rebuilt in 1999 and fully refurbished in 2003 and again in 2018. Her spacious teak decks with comfortable cockpit seating invite relaxation and meals alfresco.
Based in Auckland, New Zealand from December through to April, YONDER START moves to Fiji from May through to October/November and could relocate to Tonga if preferred.
In 2021, the 36th America’s Cup is scheduled to be contested on the scenic Hauraki Gulf, Auckland. Cruising in the immediate vicinity of the racing area is world class and includes Waiheke, renowned for its picturesque landscape, vineyards and tranquil beaches, Coromandel Peninsula, Cathedral Cove, Great Barrier Island, which is an internationally recognised night sky reserve, and many more incredible locations to explore.
With interior design by Horrocks Design, YONDER STAR is meticulously maintained and features lavish interiors that feature a blend of the best of classic and contemporary.
Within the light-filled pilothouse are both living and dining spaces with 360-degree views and plush seating adjacent to the helm area.
Forward of the pilothouse is an inviting and sumptuous open-plan saloon, with a comfortable lounge section and dining area. Décor comprises mahogany panelling, roll-top desk and brass details and fixtures.
YONDER STAR is equipped with an integrated Yamaha audio system, app controlled multi-zone, TV/DVD throughout, PlayStation in the main cabin, board games and a contemporary selection of books.
There are three spacious cabins aboard YONDER STAR: one queen master cabin, and two double plus two Pullman berths.
Direct access from the wheelhouse to the aft, full beam master suite with large ensuite and additional double twin cabin perfect for children or additional accommodation.
The master cabin boasts a unique underwater viewing port, along with a mahogany writing desk and reading area, library, stereo and air-conditioning.
WATERTOYS & TENDERS
YONDER STAR has a full complement of tenders and toys for guests to enjoy the water wonderland of this fascinating region. There is a 15ft RIB tender for skiing, wakeboarding and other inflatable tow toys, as well as two 15ft ocean kayaks, two 10ft rugged kayaks, SUPS, scuba gear and compressor and snorkelling gear.
The onboard Chef is renowned for whipping up exceptional global cuisine from fresh local ingredients, and can cater to all occasions and requirements, from candlelit dinners under the stars to beach picnics and everything in between.
