The 15th Boat International World Superyacht Awards were held virtually, Friday 13 November, recognizing excellence and innovation in the industry. The judging panel is made up of an international group of superyacht owners. This year, there were 57 nominees across 16 categories vying for the prestigious Neptune Awards, among them an exceptional selection of charter yachts.
FLYING FOX, the 446ft (136m) superyacht from German yard, Lurssen, won Best Displacement Motor Yacht in the 5,000GT and above category.
Judges were unanimous that this brilliant, supremely spacious luxury charter yacht with her serene dove-grey hull was outstanding in its class.
From her lavish owner and guest facilities to interior layout and the high quality of construction, every aspect of FLYING FOX was recognised as being of a superlative standard.
Her exterior design is the work of award-winning Espen Oeino and her opulent interiors, featuring a double-height saloon and the first cryo-sauna built on a yacht, were designed by Mark Berryman.
Judges praised the indulgent 12m pool which spans the beam of the main deck, as well as the underlying computer modelling by the technical experts at Lurssen to ensure that the pool was not adversely affected by any wave impact.
FLYING FOX’S crowning attributes are the phenomenal spa facility covering 400 square-metres over two floors, her massive watersports centre, twin helipads and an owner’s suite with private spa pool and oversized ensuite.
The contemporary interior design from Mark Berryman offers accommodation for up to 25 charter guests in 11 cabins, all with private sea view terraces. FLYING FOX is available for charter in the Mediterranean during the summer season and in the Indian Ocean during the winter.

LADY S was the winner of the Displacement Motor Yachts Between 2,000GT and 4,999GT category at this year’s Awards. At 305ft (93m) luxury charter yacht, LADY S is a Feadship-built superyacht that has already been recognised with awards for its design and innovation.
LADY S was designed by Michael Leach, and judges praised the radical shapes of her exterior, especially the use of sliding glass doors – some of the largest seen on any yacht – the innovative fire-pits on two levels and a fully certified helipad deck separated from the bridge deck by a walkway.
Her interiors were designed by Reymond Langton and feature large windows and crystal chandeliers, which were commented on for enhancing the vessel’s “cool elegance”. The designer himself described LADY S as a “contemporary jewellery box” filled with resplendent features.
Hailed as “the best equipped yacht in the world”, LADY S boasts an expansive gym with 180 degree views, 3D IMAX cinema with two viewing platforms (the only ever installed on a superyacht) and a basketball court.
Available for charter in the Mediterranean, LADY S accommodates 14 guests in six staterooms plus a palatial master suite, with a crew of up to 33 oboard to ensure every wish and whim is met.
